![]() ![]() Well, I just picked it up and it looks much better than expected and the price for such excellent service and quality of materials and craftsmanship was probably less than the guys with the 40% off coupons (really). They took it very seriously and helped me choose the mats that matched the two colors of my antique map and then just happened to have framing material on hand that did an excellent job of showing off my now piece of art. ![]() I didn't hesitate to head over to Texas Treasures to have it mounted and framed and was I ever pleased that I did!!! I have been there several times and it just gets better each time.Ī couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to purchase a rare 120 year old landowners map for Kendall County for my office. Simply some of the best art and not just local artists but also some great ones from out of state plus the sculptures are beautiful. The selection is excellent and the owner and staff know their art. Overall one of the best art galleries I have been to. Later on a campanile ("bell tower") containing two bells was added into the structure, around 1750’s. The first chapel was built out of brush and mud. It was founded in 1731 by Spanish Catholics and sits on the eastern banks of the San Antonio River. The Mission San Juan is family friendly, welcoming regardless of religion, and an overall wonderful place to spend the day. ![]() One could spend 30 minutes strolling around and see the entire grounds, or a couple of hours. At glance, this specific site has a large green space with a plain, yet elegant white church. For more info, I’d recommend looking at my profile to review my other brief reviews regarding the missions. The Alamo is the most famous mission, but these more “local” ones are arguably more charming and personable in a sense. They are all within just a few miles of each other, and can all easily be seen in a day. We did our own tour of all of the missions in San Antonio, and the Mission San Juan Capistrano is as unique and has its own identity as any of the other missions. More pictures will be posted on our instagram and video will be posted on our TikTok than historic ruins. I surely left happy and educated about what happened in the past (Texas). ![]() We enjoyed every story that tells the rich history of Texas. My favorite part here is the 3rd floor sculpture of JOHN COLEMAN, the 1876, Gall - Sitting Bull - Crazy Horse, and Z.S Liang, Victory Dance - Little Bighorn, and the 2nd floor art of Curt Walters, the Cimmerian Whispers. They also have a store where you can buy varieties of souvenirs like ref magnet, cup, mug, scarf, book, figurine, jewelries, spurs and a lot more. The place has stairs and an elevator, clean restroom, water fountain, long chair in every floor to take a rest and appreciate the beautiful arts. From the entrance you will be greeted and assist to maximize your visit. The 3 story museum was well designed from exterior to interior and they maximize every space to tell stories. Seeing what Texas culture and history through Briscoe's arts was really educating - you do not have to research as they will provide and picturesque how was it like and how Texas become Texas now. We are slowly adopting and we like what Texas is offering. We just moved in to Texas last year, so technically I can still consider that we are pretty new to the culture and environment. ![]()
